Uzbekistan Publishes Quran In Braille For The Blind

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to Jahan news agency affiliated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the copies have been published to make it possible for 24 thousand sightless citizens to read the holy Quran.  Late 2004 the Office of the Muslims of Uzbekistan jointly with the National Society for the Blind presented a version of the Holy Quran printed in Braille font, making the country recognized as the third country in the world to carry out such a noble cause.  There are two mosques for the hearing-impaired in Tashkent, the capital city as well as full time schools and libraries for the visually-impaired and now the government is distributing special Quran copies among them./129
